Communicate With Underwriting

Enjoy good communication with our underwriters by using the comments change log and the Add / Review Comments to Underwriter links.

Here’s How: When you open your loan in DirectWare (after having selected the loan program) it will automatically open to Step B – View Completion Status, which shows you the underwriting checklist.

You can either add a comment to a general comments log, or to a specific condition.

Click the link that says “Add Comments to Underwriter” or “Review Comments to Underwriter”, depending on whether there are any existing comments.

The Comments Log will open.  You can send a note to the underwriters by typing in the text box at the top and clicking the “Add Notes” button.  You can also view previous notes from you to the underwriters, as well as notes from the underwriters.

The underwriters will be able to see your notes and can respond by adding their own notes. Expand the condition(s) individually by clicking on each one; or, to expand ALL the conditions, click the “Expand” link (located in the green bar under the words “UW Image Status”.)

Each condition in the checklist has a “Comments Change Log” icon.

Click on the icon and the Change Log will open. Type your note into the top box. Then click the blue “Add Notes” button. Your note will be added to the change log.

The underwriters will be able to see your notes and can respond by adding their own notes.

Once a note has been logged by anyone, the “Comments Change Log” icon for that condition becomes light red.
